MODERN DENTISTRY

Technology at Georgian Dental®

Medical technology drives dentistry, helping patients achieve a level of care that contributes to an improvement in overall health. Without technology, appointments would be longer, recovery would be more complicated, and patients would have to live with mouth pain and a greater susceptibility to diseases like oral cancer. The onus is always on the clinic to make sure they are investing in the equipment, tools and resources that will benefit their patients the most.

Grey Container –  do not delete or move.

Georgian Dental® is committed to this, and is proud to offer patients the following:

Digital x-rays

Digital X-rays save time, provide clearer dental photos, and expose patients to less radiation than with traditional X-rays. Digital X-rays also gives the dentist better control over brightness, contrast and colour.  Like traditional X-rays, a digital X-ray requires that a sensor be inserted into the mouth that is connected to a computer. The procedure is painless, and images are sharper and can be magnified allowing the dentist to see small cavities or specific areas close-up.

3D printed teeth

Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take images. Using these images, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth’s exact form and function. Then a 3D printer uses reduction printing technology to create your restoration out of a solid block of ceramic for maximum strength.  Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry. It’s that simple!

Laser dentistry

Lasers deliver a concentrated beam of light energy, essentially acting as a cutting instrument or a heat source. It can easily and quickly remove tissue and causes less bleeding and swelling. Lasers can be used to remove tooth decay or a piece of tissue for a biopsy, prepare enamel for filling, treat gum disease or to whiten teeth. Our patients who generally feel anxious about dental procedures report reduced anxiety when a laser is used as opposed to a drill.

Other technologies Georgian Dental® has invested in:

The iTero Element

The iTero Element is another in the long list of tech investments that separate us from other Barrie dental clinics. Intraoral scanners from iTero scan the mouths of patients, capturing and creating three-dimensional dental images, allowing patients see what the potential treatment results could look like.

3D Imaging

3D imaging systems have been a game-changer, allowing dentists and orthodontists to diagnose with greater ease and to precisely craft treatments that deliver better results. Additionally, 3D imaging aids with follow-up and streamlines communication when multiple specialists are involved.

Clinic Environments

We’ve invested in the design & functionality of our clinics with the goal being making your visit, health & safety as effective as possible. This includes investing in SQuAD™ protocols – which are unique precautions that go above and beyond regulatory requirements to help maintain the safety of our patients. Visit us and you’ll see the difference.
