Dr. Adam Tan

Founder, DMD FAGD

Founder of Georgian Dental®, best-selling author, and trusted expert in the field of dental health, Dr. Adam Tan has been featured multiple times on news programs such as CTV News, A Channel News, CBC Morning Show, and several local radio stations to deliver insight and clarity on a variety of health topics.

Dr. Tan’s education and training includes a BSc with Honours from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Tan has pioneered innovative dental technology and advanced procedures including new methods for gum surgery and dental implants that have improved the outcomes and also the lives of countless patients.

Dr. Tan’s approach to dental care is rooted in a holistic philosophy, and takes a complete view of dental health as it is affected by lifestyle, diet, and overall well-being. This is supported by an unwavering dedication to strong patient-doctor relationships and establishing trust with each and every patient. He is a proud family man, father to three children, and loving husband to his wife Wendy. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.

Dr. Meghan McInerney

DMD

Dr. Meghan McInerney has a very gentle and compassionate approach to dentistry and always treats patients with their best interest in mind. She is committed to providing personalized attention and comprehensive care for her patients. She strongly believes in educating patients on the importance of preventative dentistry from an early age.

Her education and training includes a BSc with Honours from Western University in London, ON, with a double-major in Medical Science and Biology with a minor in Nutrition. She also obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University’s College of Dental Medicine in Downer’s Grove, Illinois, where she received the Award of Excellence upon graduation.

Dr. McInerney describes herself as a ‘forever student’, and is always researching the latest trends in dental care to provide even better care for her patients. She enjoys many sporting activities in her spare time, including snowboarding, cycling, golfing, and hiking, as well as relaxing at her family cottage in the beautiful Muskoka area.

Dr. Ali Tehrani

DDS

In 2019, Dr. Tehrani obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Toronto. He received the Joseph Harker Johnson Scholarship award for the most outstanding student in Clinical Oral Surgery and Anesthesia. He was also awarded membership into Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honour society. Dr. Tehrani is currently a member of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO).

With an immense passion towards surgery, Dr. Tehrani was accepted into McGill’s Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Internship program upon completion of his dental degree. He also received training in facial trauma including but not limited to facial lacerations and managing complications.

Dr. Tehrani is focused on providing his patients with the highest level of dental care. Knowing that dental procedures can be stressful for some patients, he takes the time to fully explain the procedures and ensures patient comfort comes first.
Outside dentistry, Dr. Tehrani enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, travelling, exploring nature, cooking, playing the piano, and being actively involved in sports such as soccer.

Dr. Susmita Sarkar

BDS

Dr. Susmita Sarkar completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto with a double-major in Neuroscience and Psychology. There, she immersed herself in scientific research and pursued a Masters of Science in Physiology, continuing her education at the University of Toronto. Looking to explore the world, Dr. Sarkar travelled to Ireland to complete her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the National University of Ireland, University College Cork. Four years later, she returned home to Canada where she practiced at multiple offices across the GTA before finding her dental home at Georgian Dental Barrie.

Dr. Sarkar has found a unique harmony of her academic and artistic interests in Dentistry. She is compassionate and understanding of each patient’s individual dental history and concerns. With a gentle touch and without judgement, Dr. Sarkar treats each filling as a sculpture, treats each smile as a story, and treats each patient as a friend. She is fascinated by the many disciplines of dentistry and is continually sharpening her skills taking the latest courses in restorative dentistry and oral surgery. In her spare time, Dr. Sarkar enjoys evening walks along the marina, and on weekends, she travels home to Vaughan to visit her family and friends.
